Teen&#8217;s life is quite intense, and it can be stressful when it comes to school and family matters.</p>
<p>If your problem as a teenager is having difficulty  to fall asleep, usually the main reason for this is that you have something on your mind. One way of dealing with it is to write down what keeps you awake at night. It can be matters about unresolved problems, self-esteem problems, anxiety about the test, issues with friends, or ending a relationship.</p>

Therefore, for bedtime snacks and dinner you need to eat something, which is high in complex carbohydrates with some tryptophan containing protein to relax your brain with some calcium too. A combination of sugar and carbohydrate can stimulate you and will give you a hard time to sleep.</p>

The senses are blunted because of its sensitivity. Our ability to concentrate, remember and learn is affected by insomnia. Your performance level is also affected. Insomnia in children varies in meaning based on age group, underlying symptoms, and  signs of insomnia and pattern of sleeplessness. Normally, infants needs fourteen hours of sleep every day and  reduces as they age. For young children and toddlers   they only need ten to twelve hours of sleep in order to function well. The teens need at least eight to ten hours of sleep. Adults need at least six to seven hours of sleep to be productive all throughout the day.</p>
<p>Two nights without sleep  in infant is not a serious problem but if it persists then it must  be investigated for the underlying causes. Insomnia in children may come with other symptoms including restlessness, temper tantrums, aches, pains, depression, irritability, crying and anxiety. One should identify the stages of sleep disturbances or sleeplessness in infant insomnia, either difficulty in falling asleep, repeated disturbances or maintaining sleep while asleep.</p>
<p>Some of the common reasons why infant are having insomnia are as follows:</p>
<p>•    Physical trauma or injury &#8211; pain and aches</p>
<p>•    Teething &#8211; biting and gnawing on objects, skin rash, irritability, fever, and restlessness</p>
<p>•    Bad dreams and nightmares  -  hesitant to fall asleep.</p>
<p>•    Breathing difficulty &#8211; nasal blockage like airway obstruction, hay fever or sinusitis, bronchitis, pneumonia or asthma</p>

<p>•    If the infant starts to cry in the nighttime, don&#8217;t rush in there immediately. Infants may stop crying without any intervention. If the infant gets attention at every crying during the night they have the tendency to provide reason to stay awake.</p>
<p>•    You can play soft music to cover up the noise from the outside.</p>
<p>•    It is not a good idea to punish children by making them go to bed after they have been misbehaving. It can cause insomnia in infants because instead of learning that sleeping is a good thing, they will learn to hate it.</p>
<p>•    Never put your infant fall asleep in your arms. Put them in their crib to fall asleep.</p>
<p>•    Many people believe that singing a lullaby or reading a book to a child can cause insomnia since they get used to routine like this and if in case you were not able to do these things they will not be able to fall asleep.</p>
